EL CALAFATE



It is a picturesque tourist town considered the gateway to the wonderful tour of the glaciers.

It takes its name from a bush typical of the region, according to tradition, whoever eats the fruit of the caulk back for more. Its streets have a peculiar charm with a building of low houses, warm and rustic, surrounded by Lake Argentino.

It is the closest town to visit the National Park and its famous glaciers Perito Moreno glacier, declared Natural Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO

    GLACIAR PERITO MORENO
    The Perito Moreno Glacier is located in El Calafate, between 47 º and 51 º South latitude.

    It extends over the south branch of Lago Argentino, with a front of five kilometers long and walls 60 feet high.

    One of the most stunning glaciers of the world, and has been considered the eighth wonder of the spectacular views it offers.

    It is located in an area surrounded by forests and mountains, within the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares in Santa Cruz Province, Patagonia, Argentina.

    This park, from 724,000 hectares, has a total of 356 glaciers.
